Who is Suri?
How did the idea for the page come about?
When I decided to go vegan, the hardest part for me was giving up desserts. I’ve always had a sweet tooth, so it was the toughest thing to let go of and what I missed the most.
So, I made it my goal to veganize my favorite desserts, and that’s how the page started.
When and how did you begin?
I started the page in 2016. I remember my first attempt was a lemon tart—obviously, it didn’t turn out delicious at first, but that’s how you start. It’s all trial and error, and over time, you improve and perfect your skills. But I’m still learning.
What motivates or inspires you?
The people who follow the page motivate me. It makes me so happy when they share their creations and enjoy the recipes.
What are your future plans or expectations?
I’m thinking of making an ebook and maybe starting some courses. We’ll see how things progress.
How does this help veganism?
It’s a form of activism because people realize that making vegan desserts isn’t hard and that they’re delicious—sometimes even more delicious than traditional ones. You can advocate on the streets or on social media, whichever feels best for you. Everything helps the movement grow.
How important do you think it is to veganize recipes?
It’s important because people literally see how simple and delicious it is—and that there’s no need to involve animals in the process.
What feedback or comments have you received?
Many people tell me they’ve brought one of my desserts to a gathering with friends or family, and it’s the first one to disappear. They can’t believe it’s vegan—that means everything to me.
Do you think vegan baking is expensive?
It really depends on where you buy your ingredients. I recommend buying in bulk—it’s cheaper, and you support local businesses.
I don’t think vegan baking is expensive.
Do you believe anyone can make your recipes?
Absolutely! The ingredients I use aren’t hard to find, and I try to keep the steps simple so more people can try them. When someone sees a recipe with weird, unfamiliar ingredients, they skip it—I know from my own experience when I used to search for recipes and would scroll past ones with strange names.
How long does it take you?
Filming and editing a recipe takes me at least 5 hours—I like to make it as good as possible. Developing a new recipe takes at least two days because I have to test it before sharing it.
So, I really put all my love into every Reel and every recipe.
What are your favorite recipes?
Of the recent ones, the apple crumble! Those who’ve made it know what I’m talking about—the crispy base and the apples create a spectacular combination. I highly recommend it!
What would you say to other vegan activists?
Keep advocating! Do everything with love, patience, and conviction. Don’t get discouraged—it’s all a process.
What message do you want to share?
I want to spread empathy toward other beings and remind everyone that veganism is the only movement that promotes non-violence.
